Screen Golf in Seoul: Inside a Golfzon Park

A high-tech, immersive indoor golf experience that puts most home setups to shame.

On a family trip to South Korea, I did what any sim-golf obsessive would do — I dragged everyone along to the local Golfzon Park for an afternoon of screen golf. What I found was a glimpse into how far indoor golf technology has come.

Screen golf is practically a national pastime in Korea, and Golfzon is the dominant name in the space. Walking into one of their parks feels less like a driving range and more like booking a private suite at a high-end venue.

Private Bays Built for Comfort

Each bay is a fully private room, so there's no waiting in line or hitting next to strangers. You can order food and drinks directly to your bay, and if you'd rather bring your own meal in from outside, that's allowed too.

We needed extra space for the whole family, and the staff simply connected two bays together. Afterwards, there are countless restaurants, cafes and bars right outside the park to grab a snack or a drink.

Tech That Goes Beyond the Screen

The standout feature is the hitting surface itself — it tilts in any direction to mimic the lie you'd actually face on the course. Uphill, downhill, sidehill: the platform physically recreates it under your feet for a genuinely immersive feel.

Putting gets the same treatment. Short putts are projected onto the floor in front of you, extending the experience off the main screen and onto the ground. It's a clever touch that makes the green read far more realistic than the typical top-down putting view.

Shot Metrics Galore

Golfzon's simulators serve up the full suite of shot data you'd expect from a premium system — ball speed, carry, dispersion and more. For a casual outing it's plenty, and for serious players it's enough feedback to actually work on your game between rounds.

  • Tilting hitting surface for realistic lies
  • Floor-projected short putting
